Kodai Senga To Throw Bullpen Wednesday, Could Face Hitters This Weekend
5 months agoNew York Mets right-hander Kodai Senga (shoulder, triceps) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday, after which he could be in position to begin facing live hitters this weekend, according to manager Carlos Mendoza. Senga threw 30-plus pitches in a two-inning bullpen session last Saturday as he works his way back from a posterior right-capsule strain that has kept him out all year to this point. The 31-year-old Japanese hurler had a setback along the way when he injured his right triceps muscle. However, he's tracking closer to facing live hitters and eventually going on a minor-league rehab assignment, but fantasy managers will not have Senga available until after the All-Star break in mid-July. Until then, continue to keep him stashed in an injured-list spot in all fantasy baseball formats.
