Khalil Mack's Price Tag Is Very High
6 years agoThe Oakland Raiders have received "a bunch of calls in recent days" about defensive end Khalil Mack, who is still firmly entrenched in a contract holdout. The Raiders won't give Mack away, though, and are giving "the impression the price would be at least two first-round picks." Mack was the 2016 Defensive Player of the Year, but no team will be willing to match that price tag. Both sides are in a standoff as far as a contract extension, and Mack's holdout could definitely bleed into the regular season. Oakland hasn't made Mack an offer since February. The possibility of Mack missing regular season games will be a hit to his IDP value, but he's still an elite name that will come off the board early. Mack is easily one of the best pass rushers in the NFL, and any time he misses in the regular season will be a huge loss for the defense overall. The Raiders defense isn't worth targeting in fantasy drafts.
