Kevin Kiermaier Suffers Fractured Foot
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier (foot) suffered a hairline fracture in his right foot on Wednesday after fouling a ball off of it. It's a fitting way for his disastrous 2018 season to end. He was hitless in two plate appearances before the injury on Wednesday. Kiermaier played in just 87 games this year due to injuries and hit a brutal .218/.281/.372 with seven home runs, 44 runs scored, 28 RBI and 10 stolen bases. His aggressive nature of play in the outfield and on the base paths leaves him vulnerable to injuries, and he hasn't played in over 100 games in a season since 2016. It's easy to see his fantasy stock sink even further in 2019, although he could be a late-round value pick if he manages to stay healthy.
