Keston Hiura Elects Free Agency
1 year agoMilwaukee Brewers first baseman Keston Hiura elected to become a free agent on Wednesday. Hiura never appeared in the big leagues for the Brewers in 2023 despite hitting .311/.397/.563 with a .960 OPS, 23 home runs, 13 doubles, 79 RBI and 56 runs scored in 88 games in the Arizona Complex League and for Triple-A Nashville in the minor leagues. The 27-year-old hit 19 home runs in his rookie year in 2019 with the Brewer Crew, but he was never able to put it all together since and sports just a .238 major-league batting average across four seasons for the Brew Crew. If Hiura is going to resurface in the big leagues with another organization in 2024, he's going to have to cut down on his strikeouts and swings and misses in the majors.
