Kerryon Johnson Says His Knee Is Fine
6 years agoDetroit Lions rookie running back Kerryon Johnson (knee) was conservatively shut down before the regular season ended, but he said his knee is in good shape on Monday and said he probably would've been able to play in the playoffs. Prior to Johnson's injury on Nov. 18, he was trending toward a 1,000-yard season but finished with 641 yards on 118 carries (5.4 yards per carry) while adding 32 receptions for 213 yards. “I’ve just got to train harder," Johnson said. "Obviously, what I did this past offseason wasn’t enough, so I’ve got to do more. I have more time to do more without having to prepare for the combine and all that stuff." Johnson was easily the team's most talented running back in 2018, and he should enter the 2019 season as the lead back, giving him appeal as an RB2 for fantasy owners.
