Kerryon Johnson Going On IR
6 years agoThe Detroit Lions are placing rookie running back Kerryon Johnson (knee) on Injured Reserve, according to a source. He is expected to make a full recovery this offseason. It's not a surprise, as Johnson hadn't been practicing and hadn't played since being injured in Week 11. The second-round pick had a productive rookie year, finishing with 118 carries for 641 yards (5.4 yards per carry) and three touchdowns, while also adding 32 catches for 213 yards and a score in 10 games. He should enter next season as the clear leading rusher for Detroit. Zach Zenner and LeGarrette Blount should continue to split the workload on early downs in the final two games.
