5 years agoPittsburgh Pirates closer Keone Kela (illness) is scheduled to face live hitters on Thursday after missing his first live batting practice session due to a viral infection. The Pirates have named Kela their ninth-inning closer heading into the 2020 season after he posted a very nice 2.12 ERA and 1.01 WHIP with one save in 29 2/3 innings for the Bucs in 2019. He saved a total of 24 games with the Rangers in 2018 before coming over to the Pirates. Kela will have plenty of time to get up to speed for the regular season, and he'll be a low-end closer target at the tail end of mixed league drafts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
