Kenta Maeda An Option In Closer's Role?
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Kenta Maeda could be moved to the bullpen after his start against the Rockies on Friday with closer Kenley Jansen out for a month with an irregular heartbeat. The Dodgers could use Maeda in the ninth inning to share save chances with reliever Scott Alexander. Maeda has been solid as a starter for fantasy owners, going 7-7 with a 3.73 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 123 K's in 103 2/3 innings, and he should be owned in all formats. A move to the bullpen, however, would hurt most of his value, although he could still be useful to fantasy owners if he sees some save chances. With Hyun-Jin Ryu (groin) returning soon, the Dodgers will have some shuffling to do with their rotation.
