Kenneth Walker III 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Set To Share The Load
1 year agoSeattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III (groin) became a staple of their offense after Rashaad Penny suffered a season-ending injury in Week 5. From Week 6 on, he carried the ball ten or more times in every full game he played, ending his rookie campaign with 228 rushing attempts for 1,050 yards and nine touchdowns. He also showed flashes as a receiver, hauling in 27 passes for 165 yards. Unfortunately, the team drafted his counterpart, Zach Charbonnet, with the 52nd overall pick. The UCLA prospect is one of the few backs with a three-down skill set, making him a serious threat to siphon carries and receptions from the sophomore's workload. The Michigan State product will open the season as the starter and projects to maintain the goal-line role for a high-scoring offense. Additionally, his 17 breakaway runs (15-plus yards) were third among all tailbacks, three of which he took to the house, demonstrating his ability to make big plays and produce quality outings with fewer touches. It's worth noting that he's dealing with a groin injury but has recently put in full practice and will be all systems go for Week 1. Currently ranked 16h in RotoBaller's rankings. Walker still warrants consideration as a top-12 back with a top-10 upside.
