6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen is traveling to Denver, Colorado, this weekend for the first time since he suffered an irregular heartbeat in his last trip there on Aug. 9 of last year. He missed 11 games after that and was held from a trip to Colorado in early September due to the high risk of another episode of atrial fibrillation. Jansen underwent heart surgery in the offseason for the second time in six years and is no longer taking heart medicine. He will need to consume plenty of water this weekend and avoid high-sodium foods. Manager Dave Roberts said it'll be "business as usual" in terms of Jansen's usage late in game. Jansen came to spring training 25 pounds lighter after cutting carbs and sugar from his diet. He's also throwing with less velocity to start the season, but it hasn't affected his results at all on the mound. He remains an elite fantasy closer.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
