K.J. Wright Won't Be Ready For Week 1
6 years agoSeattle Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright (knee) will not be ready for Week 1 against the Denver Broncos, according to head coach Pete Carroll. In his absence, rookie Shaquem Griffin is expected to start. Wright underwent a "cleanup" arthroscopic procedure on his knee on Monday and is expected to be out a couple of weeks. Carroll said the surgery "went very well" and that "hopefully (there was) a minimal invasive kind of approach to it that will really help his recovery." Wright has had over 100 tackles each of the last four seasons. Losing him for any amount of time will put more of a burden on an already declining Seattle defense.
