6 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays exercised first baseman Justin Smoak's $8 million option for the 2019 season on Tuesday, according to a source. Smoak predictably came back down to Earth in 2018 after going for a career-high 38 homers and 90 RBI in 2017. He hit .242/.350/.457 with 25 home runs and 77 RBI in 147 games. Smoak will remain the team's starting first baseman and will remain a solid source of power in mixed leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
