3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks second baseman Josh VanMeter (back) was a late scratch from Wednesday's starting lineup due to back spasms. He did, however, come into the game as a pinch-hitter and he went 0-for-1 with a strikeout. After the game, Diamondbacks manager said that VanMeter was going to be day-to-day with the injury. VanMeter has been seeing semi-regular playing time lately. He closed out July strong with five doubles over his last three games, but he's off to a slow start to August, going just 2-for-11 over his first four games of the month.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
