Josh Jung Not Playing On Wednesday
3 months agoTexas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung is not in the team's starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox. Jung will be replaced at the hot corner by Josh Smith, who will hit in the three-hole against Red Sox right-hander Tanner Houck. The 26-year-old Jung made the All-Star team in 2023 in his first full season in the big leagues, but 2024 has been a much different story. The right-handed slugger fractured his wrist early in the year, which has limited him to 17 games. In those 17 games, he's hit .265/.296/.471 with a .766 OPS, three homers and seven RBI. Since returning from his wrist injury, he's gone 11-for-51 (.216) with a homer and 19 K's in 13 games since July 30. Smith, on the other hand, is having a career year with 12 homers, 51 RBI and seven steals, and will be a solid low-cost DFS play on Wednesday.
