6 years agoDetroit Tigers second baseman Josh Harrison (shoulder) was placed on the injured list on Tuesday, but an MRI exam on his left shoulder showed only inflammation and no structural damage. He's on anti-inflammatory medication and could receive a cortisone shot soon, according to manager Ron Gardenhire. Harrison is batting an atrocious .156 with one home run and seven RBI in his 22 games, so perhaps his injured list stint will give him some time to get his swing right. It sounds like the veteran infielder could return as soon as next week, but he's only an AL-only asset with the way he's performed early on.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
