Josh Hader Day-To-Day With Back Spasms
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers closer Josh Hader (back) was unavailable on Tuesday against the Cincinnati Reds due to mid-back spasms. Hader threw a bullpen session Tuesday afternoon and it went well, according to manager Craig Counsell. The hard-throwing left-hander is day-to-day for now. Hader has not taken the mound since April 27 when he earned a save, and his back injuries first surfaced on Saturday. Right-hander Devin Williams has earned two saves since Hader last pitched, including Tuesday against the Reds, and he'll likely get any more save opportunities for Milwaukee until Hader returns. In 10 outings covering 9 1/3 innings, Hader hasn't allowed a single run while walking four and striking out 15 with a league-leading 10 saves. It sounds like he could return as soon as Wednesday.
