Joseph Woll Records His First Career Shutout
3 years agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll bagged his first career shutout on Sunday with 20 saves in a 3-0 victory over the Islanders. He became the fifth goalie in franchise history to win both of his first two career starts. The 23-year-old made his NHL debut in a 5-4 win over Buffalo on Nov. 13. Woll is currently getting action because Petr Mrazek (groin) is on the shelf. The Czech netminder was ruled out for four weeks on Nov. 7, so he's still some way off from returning, and Woll could get a couple of more starts in the near future.
