Jose Urena Tagged With Second Loss On Sunday
4 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Jose Urena was tagged with his second loss of the year on Sunday as the Tigers fell 5-2 to the Cleveland Indians. Urena pitched 4 2/3 innings and allowed three hits, five walks and two earned runs while striking out four. He now has an 8.22 ERA and 2.09 WHIP on the year. Urena will be one of the prime candidates to lose a rotation spot once Spencer Turnbull returns to the team. Turnbull has been away from the Tigers while following COVID protocols. The Tigers also have Matt Manning, the No. 22 overall prospect on MLB.com, waiting in the wings and likely to make his MLB debut this year. All in all, Urena will need to turn things around quickly to keep his rotation spot.
