Jose Urena Moved To 60-Day Injured List With Herniated Disc
5 years agoThe Miami Marlins moved starting pitcher Jose Urena (back) to the 60-day injured list on Friday after an MRI exam revealed a herniated disc in his back. The Marlins were hoping that Urena might only need to miss one or two starts, but obviously that won't be the case now and he shouldn't be expected back before the All-Star break now. The 27-year-old is 4-7 on the season with a 4.70 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 51 K's in 74 2/3 innings over his 13 starts. He won't get many wins on this bad Marlins team and is a shaky streaming option in deep mixed leagues when he's on the mound. Rookie Jordan Yamamoto had a great big league debut this week against the Cardinals and could stick around in the rotation until Urena recovers.
