Jose Ramirez Could Be Headed To Injured List
5 years agoCleveland Indians third baseman Jose Ramirez (wrist) was forced to leave the game early on Saturday with a right wrist injury after his first-inning plate appearance. Ramirez underwent an MRI exam after leaving, and the Tribe pulled infield prospect Yu Chang from Triple-A Columbus' game as a precaution in case Ramirez needs to go on the injured list. Ramirez had been a disappointment for fantasy owners in the first half, but he was hitting .327/.363/.705 since the All-Star break, so losing him for any amount of time would be tough on the Indians and his fantasy owners. His 17 extra-base hits in August is tied with Boston's Rafael Devers for the most in baseball. Chang is the team's No. 11 prospect and is hitting .254/.323/.429 in 67 games on the farm. Chang or Mike Freeman could see starts at the hot corner if Ramirez misses action.
