5 years agoTexas Rangers closer Jose Leclerc is generating plenty of trade interest, according to sources. However, general manager Jon Daniels said that losing out on third baseman Anthony Rendon doesn't mean the team is leaning towards another year of a full rebuild. Leclerc definitely was more of a disappointment last year after posting a 1.56 ERA in 2018, but he did finish the season strong and was able to notch 14 saves while posting a 4.33 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 13.1 K/9 in his 40 outings. He pitches in a tough environment in Texas but is able to miss enough bats to make him fantasy relevant as a low-end closer as long as he's pitching the ninth inning in Texas.
