1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies left-handed reliever Jose Alvarado (elbow) threw a flat-ground bullpen session on Monday, and if he feels OK, he will throw a regular bullpen session on Wednesday. He will throw a second bullpen at some point before facing hitters. The 28-year-old will also require a minor-league rehab assignment before rejoining the Phillies' bullpen. It's unclear if that will come before the end of the team's three-city, 10-game road trip that ends on June 4 in D.C. Alvarado was put on the injured list on May 10 after having posted an excellent 0.63 ERA in 14 appearances while recording five saves in seven chances.
