Jorge Soler Receives Injection
2 years agoMiami Marlins outfielder Jorge Soler (pelvis) is rehabbing with core and mobility training in Florida after being placed on the 10-day injured list with bilateral pelvis inflammation. According to skipper Don Mattingly, Soler received an injection. "I think Jorge was trying to get through this back pain," Mattingly said prior to the July 1 game in Washington. "One day good, couple days bad, one at-bat good, some bad. It was getting to the point where he really couldn't do the work that he needed to do to be sharp. So, we had to get rid of it." It sounds like the Marlins are taking it slow with the 30-year-old, so there's a chance he won't return until after the All-Star break. Bryan De La Cruz will continue to play regularly with Soler on the shelf. Soler has 13 home runs, but he's also hitting just .217 with a .306 on-base percentage this year.
