Jorge Polanco Starting Rehab Assignment Thursday
2 years agoMinnesota Twins middle infielder Jorge Polanco (knee) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Low-A Fort Myers on Thursday. He is scheduled to start at second base and bat second in the lineup. Barring a setback with Fort Myers, Polanco could be activated from the injured list to make his 2023 debut with the Twins sometime early next week. The 29-year-old was derailed by injuries in 2022 and hit .235/.346/.405 with a .751 OPS, 16 home runs, 56 RBI and 54 runs scored in 445 plate appearances and 104 games for the Twins. With better health in 2023, Polanco could easily bounce back for fantasy managers as a nice middle-infield asset with solid power. Check your league's waiver wire to see if he's available.
