6 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Jorge Lopez (rib cage), who left his start early on Friday after being hit by a line drive in the rib cage, will undergo an MRI exam on Saturday. X-rays showed no fracture to his rib cage, but Lopez is hurting when he takes deep breaths. Lopez allowed nine hits and three earned runs while striking out just one in 4 1/3 innings against the Twins before he left the game on Friday. He has a 3.93 ERA and mediocre 6.49 K/9 in six starts on the season. We'll know more on whether he might be able to make another start this year after the team gets his MRI results back this weekend.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
