5 years agoDetroit Tigers shortstop Jordy Mercer (quadriceps) experienced renewed right quadriceps soreness on his minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo and was pulled in the fourth inning on Tuesday, according to a source. Mercer has been on the injured list since May 7 and will be out a while longer after this setback. The glove-first player was hitting just .206 (13-for-63) with a homer and three RBI before his injury, so he wasn't on the fantasy radar to begin with. There's a chance he'll just be a utility player for Detroit when he's healthy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
