6 years agoDetroit Tigers shortstop Jordy Mercer (quadriceps) has moved his rehab assignment to Single-A Lakeland for weather reasons and is expected to play in a couple of games with them this week. Mercer is a glove-first shortstop that was hitting only .233 (10-for-43) with no homers and two RBI in his first 13 games. He carries very little fantasy relevance but should return to being the team's everyday shortstop when he's ready. Ronny Rodriguez has been seeing most of the playing time at the 6 with Mercer on the shelf.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
