6 years agoDetroit Tigers shortstop Jordy Mercer left the game early on Saturday with a right quadriceps spasm. Mercer had two hits (one double) and a run scored in two plate appearances on Saturday before departing. He's hitting a weak .233 with 10 hits in 47 plate appearances for the Tigers this year. He also has 11 strikeouts and just three walks. Mercer has always been a glove-first guy and offers very little to AL-only owners. If Mercer is forced to miss more time, it could give Gordon Beckham a chance to see more playing time at the 6.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
