Jordan Reed Expected To Be Ready For Week 1
5 years agoWashington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden expects tight end Jordan Reed (concussion) to be available for the regular season opener against the Eagles. Reed entered the concussion protocol after being hit in last Thursday's preseason game against the Falcons. "We're quite confident that Jordan will be fine," Gruden said. It's good news for Reed owners and the Redskins, but it doesn't take away from the fact that Reed is one of the most injury-plagued players at the game, let alone his position. He's never played a full season in six years in the league. On the flip side, Washington doesn't have many reliable options in the passing game, so Reed should see plenty of targets from quarterback Case Keenum if he's healthy. He's simply a TE2 with upside if he can stay on the field for all 16 games, which is unlikely.
