Jordan Holloway Likely To Be Bulk Reliever Thursday
3 years agoThe Miami Marlins recalled right-hander Jordan Holloway from Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday, and he's likely to be the team's bulk reliever after Anthony Bender opens against the San Diego Padres. Right-hander Nick Neidert was optioned to Jacksonville after a successful spot start on Wednesday night. Holloway has been great for the Marlins this year, posting a 3.00 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 31 strikeouts in 11 outings (three starts) over 30 innings pitched. The 25-year-old isn't a terrible low-cost streaming option, but the matchup is a tough one, and his 13.6 percent walk rate could also get him in trouble eventually. But Holloway has a nice hard-hit percentage of just 29.9 on the season and has been flying under the radar.
