Jonathan Villar Will See Time In Center Field
5 years agoMiami Marlins manager Don Mattingly said that infielder Jonathan Villar will play the middle of the field in his first year in Miami, noting center field, second base and shortstop. Third base was mentioned more in passing. Villar was extremely valuable to fantasy owners in 2019 despite playing for the last-place Orioles, as he hit .274/.339/.453 with 24 home runs, 111 runs, 73 RBI and 40 stolen bases in 642 at-bats. He could play all of those positions listed in 2020, which would give him even more appeal for his positional eligibility. Despite playing for a rebuilding team in Miami, Villar showed last year that he can still produce high-end numbers across the board.
