Jonathan Villar To Begin In Center Field
5 years agoMiami Marlins manager Don Mattingly said that infielder Jonathan Villar will start camp working in center field. Villar will continue to get repetitions in the infield, but the Marlins are hoping Villar becomes their center fielder. It remains to be seen if Villar can stick at the position having little experience in the outfield, but he could be used at second or third base if he doesn't transition well to center field. The 28-year-old is on another rebuilding club, but he was plenty relevant in all fantasy leagues in 2019 while hitting .274/.339/.453 with 24 homers, 111 runs, 73 RBI and 40 steals in 2019 with the Orioles. Adding outfield eligibility will be an added bonus. Villar is RotoBaller's No. 6 fantasy second baseman, and he's worth considering around the sixth round of drafts.
