Johnny Cueto On Track To Start Rehab Assignment In August
5 years agoSan Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy said that starting pitcher Johnny Cueto (elbow) is on track to start a rehab assignment in early August. Cueto is recovering from Tommy John surgery, but it looks like he might be able to start a handful of games at the end of the season. The 33-year-old veteran and two-time All-Star hasn't really moved the needle in fantasy since 2016 when he went 18-5 with a 2.79 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 8.1 K/9 in 32 starts, including five complete games. The Giants won't rush him back to close out the 2019 season either, so we wouldn't bank on him helping fantasy teams later on this year.
