2 years agoThe Miami Marlins reinstated third baseman Joey Wendle (hamstring) from the injured list on Friday and placed outfielder Jorge Soler (pelvis) on the 10-day injured list with bilateral pelvis inflammation in a corresponding move. The Marlins also designated infielder Erik Gonzalez for assignment and selected outfielder Billy Hamilton's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville. Wendle is starting at second base and batting second on Friday against Washington Nationals right-hander Josiah Gray. The 32-year-old missed all of June and will return to a strong .284/.340/.420 line with two homers, 11 RBI, 12 runs scored and four stolen bases. Between second and third base, Wendle should be a lineup regular for the Fish and can help with batting average and some modest speed.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
