Joey Wendle Leaves Game Early Wednesday
3 years agoMiami Marlins third baseman Joey Wendle (hamstring) left the game early on Wednesday against the Arizona Diamondbacks with right hamstring tightness. Wendle left the game in the third inning, but he did some damage before departing by going 2-for-2 with a two-run home run, just his second round-tripper of the year in 25 games. Infielder Erik Gonzalez replaced Wendle for the Fish. The 32-year-old should be considered day-to-day for now, but he also missed three games last week with the same injury. Entering Wednesday's contest, Wendle was hitting .286 with one homer, eight RBI, 11 runs scored and four stolen bases in 85 at-bats for Miami.
