Joey Wendle Could Be Out 6-8 Weeks
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash said that second baseman Joey Wendle (wrist) could be out for six to eight weeks. Wendle fractured his wrist on Wednesday when he was hit by a pitch and will be out an extended period of time. He was hitting just .136 (3-for-22) with no homers and two RBI, so nobody should be hanging onto him in mixed leagues while he heals. His absence assures Brandon Lowe of everyday playing time. The left-handed hitter deserves to be owned in all leagues after starting the year batting .291/.347/.581 with six home runs, 17 RBI and two steals.
