5 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto (back) was scratched from the lineup on Thursday with lower back tightness. Josh VanMeter entered the lineup in the No. 2 spot against the Cardinals and starter Michael Wacha. The 35-year-old Votto has disappointed this year with a .262/.352/.410 slash line, 12 home runs and 39 RBI. It's unclear if this injury will require Votto to land on the injured list, but prepare for him to miss at least another game or two.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
