5 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds activated first baseman Joey Votto (back) from the injured list on Tuesday and optioned infielder/outfielder Jose Peraza to Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move. Votto is hitting second against Marlins left-hander Caleb Smith in his first game back. The 35-year-old has really showed his age this year, hitting an un-Votto like .262/.352/.410 with only 12 home runs, 60 runs, 39 RBI and four steals in 424 at-bats. You may want to avoid putting him in your lineups right away in deeper leagues, especially against a southpaw.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
