Joey Gallo Worried That New Stadium Is Pitcher's Park
5 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Joey Gallo has been working out with some teammates at the new Globe Life Field. He loves the new turf but is concerned that the fences at the new park might be too deep. "It’s playing big. It is definitely going to be a pitcher's park, I think. We are trying to get those fences moved in a little bit. It’s a little deep, I am not going to lie. It’s a little deep to center," Gallo said. Center field at the new park is 10 feet deeper than the old field, but the left and right center gaps have actually come in a bit. With a retractable roof, though, Gallo hinted that the ball may not be flying as well when the roof isn't open. The left-handed slugger is an elite source of power in fantasy and probably shouldn't be affected much, if at all, by the new dimensions, but it's worth watching if/when the 2020 season ever starts and is played in the Rangers new stadium.
