Joe Ross Could Start Saturday
5 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Joe Ross (leg) will start on Saturday against the Cubs if he's able to get through a successful bullpen session on Thursday. If Ross cannot go this weekend, Erick Fedde will get the nod. Ross was hit by a comebacker in his start earlier this week, but X-rays came back negative. The 26-year-old right-hander has a shaky 5.48 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 38 strikeouts in 46 innings (five starts) this year and shouldn't be trusted against Chicago to begin with, let alone coming off an injury.
