Joe Kelly To Start Rehab Assignment Friday
3 years agoChicago White Sox relief pitcher Joe Kelly (biceps) will start his minor league rehab assignment on Friday with Triple-A Charlotte. Kelly began the regular season on the injured list while battling a nerve issue in his right arm. The 33-year-old right-hander joins the White Sox this year after spending the last three seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he was an integral part of their bullpen. He's expected to do the same in his first year for the White Sox as a bridge to closer Liam Hendriks. Kelly was solid last year in LA, posting a 2.86 ERA, a 0.98 WHIP, two saves, 50 strikeouts and 15 walks in 44 relief innings. He can be valuable in deeper fantasy leagues that reward points for holds.
