Joakim Soria Has Groin Strain
6 years agoUpdating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Joakim Soria (groin) suffered a mild right groin strain in his outing against the Padres on Thursday in which he gave up a game-winning grand slam. Only one of the four runs was charged to Soria, but he was charged with a blown save anyway. It's unclear if this injury will require Soria to land on the disabled list, but it could keep him from getting save chances with Corey Knebel temporarily being removed from the role. Soria has a nice 2.44 ERA and 11.17 K/9 on the year, but Josh Hader or Jeremy Jeffress are better speculative pickups for the time being if they are available in your league.
