Jimmy Nelson To Make Second Rehab Start Saturday
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Jimmy Nelson (elbow) came out of his rehab start with Triple-A on Sunday healthy, and he's scheduled to start again on Saturday, according to manager Craig Counsell. The right-hander allowed two hits and three earned runs while walking four and striking out three in 3 1/3 innings on Sunday. It's not the best outing, but the important part is that he's healthy. With Freddy Peralta and Corbin Burnes on thin ice in the rotation, Nelson should return to a rotation spot when he's ready. The 29-year-old didn't pitch at all in 2018 but had a 3.49 ERA and 12 wins in 29 starts for the Brew Crew in 2017. Consider him a stash option in deeper leagues.
