Jhoulys Chacin Named Opening Day Starter
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell named starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin as his Opening Day starter on Thursday. He'll face the Cardinals at home on March 28 after the 31-year-old had a stellar year in 2018. Chacin went 15-8 with a 3.50 ERA in the regular season before posting a 1.46 ERA in three playoff starts in his first year in Milwaukee. He held hitters to a .220 average in the regular season. It will be the veteran's third career Opening Day start. Despite being serviceable in 2018, Chacin shouldn't be counted on for numbers as good as that for a second straight season in Milwaukee. He's more of a matchup play in NL-only leagues and DFS.
