Jets Sign Rishard Matthews
6 years agoThe New York Jets are signing free-agent wide receiver Rishard Matthews on Tuesday, according to a source. Matthews fell out of favor with the new coaching staff in Tennessee despite going for 65 catches, 945 yards and nine touchdowns just two seasons ago. There is opportunity in New York with Quincy Enunwa (ankle) out a few weeks and Terrelle Pryor no longer on the roster. Still, the Jets also have Robby Anderson and Jermaine Kearse, so it remains to be seen if Matthews can carve out a fantasy-relevant role in this inconsistent offense led by rookie quarterback Sam Darnold. For now, Matthews is only worthy of a stash in much deeper leagues.
