5 years agoThe New York Jets exercised the 2020 option on tight end Ryan Griffin on Saturday, according to a source. Griffin signed an extension with the team last November after making a strong impression and starting in all 13 games that he played. It helped that Chris Herndon couldn't get on the field much because of injuries, but Griffin took advantage of the opportunity to catch 34 passes for 320 yards and a career-high five touchdowns. The 30-year-old former sixth-round pick of the Texans in 2013 will have to earn his playing time over Herndon in 2020, though, so he can likely be avoided in standard-sized fantasy leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
