Jets Interested In Trading For Le'Veon Bell
6 years agoThe New York Jets have reached out to the Pittsburgh Steelers about trading for running back Le'Veon Bell, according to sources. The Jets haven't made a concrete offer for Bell, but they believe Pittsburgh is serious about moving him. Bell hasn't signed his $14.54 million franchise tag tender and will miss his third straight game on Monday. He is looking for a multi-year deal for more than $15 million per year. The NFL trade deadline is Oct. 30. The Jets have available salary cap space (around $17 million this year) and a projected $90 million in 2019. Bilal Powell and Isaiah Crowell have formed a two-headed rushing attack in New York this year, but neither player has been that effective outside of Week 1. Bell's fantasy owners continue to be frustrated that he has yet to play this year. A move to Gang Green would make him a less-appealing RB1 in a weaker offensive system.
