Jets Considering Freeing Up Money To Add Logan Ryan
5 years agoThe New York Jets are considering freeing up money in order to make a run at free-agent cornerback Logan Ryan, the former Patriot and Titan defensive back. Ryan won two Super Bowl rings in New England and is coming off the best season in his career in 2019 in which he had 18 passes defensed (third most in the NFL), eight QB hits, 4.5 sacks, four interceptions and a career-high 113 tackles. Last month, Ryan was looking for $10 million a year on a short deal, which was the amount he had earned each of the last three years after signing with the Titans. The Jets will free up $11 million after June 1 with Trumaine Johnson's official release. Gang Green might have to get creative to sign Ryan, but he'd give the Jets versatility and production in their secondary alongside safety Jamal Adams.
