Jesus Luzardo Wins Arbitration Case Over Marlins
2 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo won his salary arbitration hearing on Friday against the Marlins, according to a source. He will make $2.45 million in 2023 after the Marlins filed for $2.1 million. Luzardo is one of the bright spots for the Marlins rotation after he had a 3.32 ERA (3.12 FIP), 1.04 WHIP and impressing 30 percent strikeout rate in 100 1/3 innings over 18 starts in his first full season in Miami in 2022. Sandy Alcantara is the clear No. 1 in this rotation, but Luzardo is the clear No. 2 and could be in for a breakout season in 2023 if he can stay healthy all year long. RotoBaller currently has Luzardo ranked as the No. 49 fantasy starter, but he could outperform that ranking easily.
