Jesus Luzardo To Throw Live BP Tuesday
2 years agoMiami Marlins left-hander Jesus Luzardo (forearm) is scheduled to throw two innings of live batting practice on Tuesday. Luzardo was moved to the 60-day injured list on June 15, but he's getting closer to going on a minor league rehab assignment. He's attempting to return from a left forearm strain, but it remains to be seen if he'll rejoin Miami's starting rotation before the All-Star break. The best bet is that he returns for the start of the second half of the season in mid-July. The 24-year-old southpaw has been out since May 15, so Miami won't rush him back. Luzardo had a 4.03 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 41 strikeouts and 16 walks in 29 innings over six starts before landing on the injured list.
